UOW College Australia (UOWCA) is wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Wollongong. Since 1988, UOWCA has been offering students alternative entry to UOW through university preparation courses. UOWCA course offerings include Academic programs (Higher Education Diplomas and University Entrance Programs), English Programs and Vocational programs.
The Manager, Academic Quality Standards and Regulatory Affairs plays a critical leadership role in ensuring UOWCA maintains all required educational licences, registrations, course accreditations, and funding approvals across multiple regulatory frameworks.
This position is the primary liaison with Australian government agencies and regulatory bodies, leading all institutional responses to audits, reviews, and information requests. The role also contributes to the management of academic misconduct and appeals processes and supports UOWCA's governance framework, including board and committee secretariat functions and the continuous improvement of policies and procedures.
Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with the UOWCA Leadership Team, this role is central to safeguarding the College's regulatory standing, academic integrity, and institutional reputation.
Key Selection Criteria
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in law, Education, Policy or a related area.
* Experience working in quality assurance and/or regulatory compliance leadership roles within the Higher Education sector.
* Experience in the conduct of regulatory audits.
* Ability to work independently, manage and plan own workload and set own priorities
* Extensive knowledge of the Australian Qualifications Framework and Standards, National Protocols for Higher Education and Vocational Education and Training approval and license processes, Standards and Criteria for English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) and Foundation Studies Programs and the ESOS legislative framework.
* Ability to build and manage effective relationships with key internal stakeholders and external contacts across Higher Education and Vocational Education and Training sectors, government agencies and regulatory bodies.
