**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a seasoned mechanical expert to lead the design, development and implementation of complex mechanical systems and processes.
This role involves evaluating and selecting standard mechanical engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria for projects or assignments. The ideal candidate will have expertise in preparing original designs layouts, details, drawings and specifications.
The incumbent will also be responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating mechanical components and processes utilizing relevant engineering department procedures, design standards and guides.
A key aspect of this role is providing technical assistance to other personnel and interacting with project functions, customers and regulatory agency personnel in resolving complex issues.
Additionally, the successful candidate will provide technical inputs and evaluations in support of procurement activities for mechanical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Evaluate and select standard mechanical engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria for projects or assignments.
* Prepare original designs layouts, details, drawings and specifications.
* Design, develop, modify and evaluate mechanical components and processes.
* Provide technical assistance to other personnel.
* Interact with project functions, customers and regulatory agency personnel.
* Support procurement activities for mechanical equipment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
* 8-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the mining and metals industry.
* Knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, materials and computers in the discipline.
* Experience in design and specification of bulk materials handling equipment and other mechanical equipment commonly used in mining and metals projects.
