* Part-time (80%), permanent position

* Base salary will be in the range $91,658 - $98,330 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 6)

* Based at our Bundaberg Hospital campus


About This Opportunity

As the Senior Administration and Engagement Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in the success and visibility of the Wide Bay Rural Clinical School, located in beautiful Bundaberg.

As a key business partner, you will coordinate a wide range of marketing initiatives and engagement activities that directly support the Medical Pathway and the Regional Training Hub. From organising events that inspire future medical professionals, to supporting current students and junior doctors, your work will enhance both the educational experience and the school’s connection to its community.

You’ll be a key driver of stakeholder engagement—bringing people together, strengthening partnerships, and representing the school in ways that leave a lasting impression. Your contribution will help shape the future of healthcare in rural and regional Australia.

Key responsibilities will include:

o Plan, coordinate, and deliver community-focused events and engagement activities, including workshops and outreach programs that respond to local needs, support the Medical Pathway, and foster meaningful connections with students, junior doctors, and stakeholders.

o Manage stakeholder relationships and provide high-quality customer service, working collaboratively with community members, external partners, service providers, and internal UQ teams to ensure events and services align with RCU policies and goals.

o Lead marketing and communications efforts, including website updates, social media campaigns, newsletters, and other promotional materials to enhance visibility and engagement across all internal and external activities.

o Oversee end-to-end project and event management, including design, planning, funding proposals, on-site coordination, evaluation, and reporting—demonstrating sound judgment, initiative, and confidentiality in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

About You

o Relevant degree with four years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and/or professional experience in administration or project coordination.

o Strong community and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships, understand diverse needs, and translate strategy into action.

o Proven experience in administration, scheduling, and coordinating events or projects from planning through to evaluation.

o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook Calendars, Eventbrite, and Adobe Creative Suite.

o Demonstrated ability to collect, analyse and report on data to support decision-making and engagement outcomes.

o Commitment to working in rural or regional Australia; experience in the university or a large, complex organisation is highly regarded.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia, criminal check.
