The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Database Administrator who will be responsible for the effective provisioning, installation / configuration, operation, and maintenance of SQL Server & Oracle here at Arc. This role is accountable to deliver assigned projects and BAU tasks defined in the project pipeline in a safe, efficient and reliable manner.
Responsibilities
* Monitor SQL Server and Oracle databases across IT and OT environments
* Installation, configuration and upgrading of Microsoft SQL Server / Oracle server software and related tools
* Evaluate MSSQL / Oracle features and MSSQL / Oracle related products
* Assist with establishing and maintaining sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
* Implement and maintain database security according to company policy and procedure
* Database tuning and performance monitoring
* Script database deployments and migrations for applications team
* Interface with MSSQL / Oracle vendors for technical support
* Ensure effective access to data and information assets whilst maintaining the requirements of security, privacy and confidentiality
* Participate in testing of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans to ensure that the business can continue to function in the event of exceptional scenarios
* Maintain contemporary knowledge of system architectures and information systems appropriate to the organisation
Qualifications
* Experience supporting mission critical database platforms
* Experience in supporting Oracle and SQL Server databases
* Ability to develop and enforce standards and best practices
* Strong documentation and communication skills required
* Ability to interact effectively and professionally with staff and customers
* Experience configuring high availability database environments
