**About the Role**
Located in tranquil Bongaree, Bribie Island Aged Care Service provides residential aged care, with beachfront access, coastal lifestyles and amenities close by.
In this role you will be part of a two-person team, helping in the labouring duties associated with grounds & lawns maintenance and preventative and corrective general maintenance services in our Bribie Island Residential facility. Working 5 days a week (Mon-Fri), you will be an integral member of a small team.
You will maintain an inventory of equipment and ensure it's in accordance with manufacturer recommendations. Along with relevant record keeping and administration, you will ensure all practices are completed in a timely manner, including all planned and programmed gardening and maintenance.
Your days will be varied and you will also:
- Undertake general maintenance work including repairs, installation and cleaning;
- Undertake grounds maintenance including mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, fertilising, and garden refuse removal;
- Complete all relevant record keeping, utilising the organisation's management systems.
Remuneration for this role is from $25.66 per hour commensurate with experience.
**About You**
This role would be ideal for a dedicated, experienced and organised Maintenance Officer who is looking for a new challenge. You will be a driven self-starter who loves working collaboratively as part of a team, however, you are also capable of working autonomously.
With your highly developed customer focus and excellent service skills, you resolve gardening and maintenance issues as they arise and enjoy interacting with staff and residents. You have proven knowledge and physical capacity to use and maintain equipment as required by the role. Ever ready to provide support, you have a welcoming, caring and compassionate nature.
As the Maintenance Officer, ideally your experience and qualifications include:
- Previous experience in residential aged care, retirement living or community services environment is highly regarded but not required;
- Demonstrated experience in a maintenance or landscaping role;
- Knowledge of work health and safety requirements, or the ability to acquire within one month of employment;
- A current driver's licence (or ability to acquire one within 1 month of employment);
- Possess a current National Police Check, or the willingness to acquire one.
