Responsibilities
- Residential Care Workers provide around the clock care to youth in need, supporting young people aged 12 to 17 in our care placements.
- Build positive relationships with young people and team members.
- Follow routines developed specifically for each young person 0needs.
- Transport young people to and from school, day programs and appointments.
- Complete activities and mealtimes together with the young people.
- Assist in the implementation of programs designed for growth and development of young people.
- Complete summary notes and help create a protected, homely living environment.

About You / Essential Criteria
- Current Working with Children Check (for paid employment).
- Current First Aid Certificate (Provide First Aid; Course Code HLTAID003).
- National Police Check (via Employment Screening Group for Allambi).
- International Police Check if applicable (for applicants who have lived continuously for 12 months or more in another country within the last 10 years).
- A current driver’s licence.
- Willingness to participate in a Worker/Carer Exclusion Scheme Check.
- Current NDIS Worker Check (can be obtained via Vic services).
Mandatory Qualifications
The following qualifications are required for this role. You must be enrolled in/undertaking or hold either:
- Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention; or
- A recognised relevant qualification (if unsure please ask).
In addition, all residential care workers must complete the three mandatory units of competency within the first 3 months of employment if not already obtained:
- CHCMHS007 – Work effectively in trauma informed care
- CHCPRT009 – Provide primary residential care
- CHCCCS009 – Facilitate responsible behaviour
Allambi Care can facilitate obtaining these units through our partnered RTO within the first 3 months of employment (RTO no 45241).
