Company DescriptionLiving Earth College is a global applied learning platform centered on activating local food systems through design-led, practice-based education. Through its cohort-based online programs, participants collaborate to design and execute actionable projects that produce practical insights and improve policy and community outcomes. Headquartered in Tasmania with an international outreach, Living Earth College fosters a network of changemakers dedicated to building regenerative and community-led food systems. Its flagship course, Activating Local Food Systems, enables participants to move from concept to implementation within a structured 7-week journey.
Role DescriptionThis is a part-time remote role, or can be place based TASMANIA, for a Coordinator of Volunteers. The Coordinator of Volunteers will be responsible for recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers, facilitating community outreach efforts, and managing relationships with stakeholders. The role will include planning and organising volunteer activities and events, providing training sessions, and ensuring alignment with Living Earth College’s mission. The role also involves maintaining clear and consistent communication with volunteers, fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment, and working closely with the broader team to achieve organisational objectives.
QualificationsStrong skills in Volunteer Management, including organising and supporting diverse teams of volunteers.Proficiency in Volunteer Training and preparation to ensure volunteers are well-equipped for their roles.Exceptional Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build relationships and maintain an inclusive environment.Experience with Community Outreach to engage with local communities and recruit participants effectively.Proven organisational and time-management skills to effectively coordinate multiple events and for supporting community-driven initiatives and sustainability-focused programs.Familiarity or prior experience in food systems, sustainability, or nonprofit work is a bonus.Relevant qualification or equivalent professional experience in community development, volunteer coordination, or a related field.
