An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly ambitious Environmental Consultant to join our internationally recognised Environmental Approvals, Closure & Management team based in Newcastle.
The team provides a wide range of project management, environmental impact assessment, REF’s, post-consent environmental management services such as Environmental Audits & Management Plans and works alongside other specialist teams in SLR to deliver a complete environmental service to clients across a range of sectors.
Articulate, motivated and reliable, you will have 3+ years' experience in consulting, government or industry. You will enjoy undertaking project work, fieldwork, environmental impact assessments & audits throughout the region. You will also collaborate on projects and initiatives with the national EAC&M Group (circa 70 staff across 10 offices) and other teams within our multi-disciplinary business.
ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities will include:Providing advice regarding best practice environmental impact assessment and management principles to clients and internal SLR team membersAssisting Project Management/ running your own projects on interesting environmental projects across multiple industriesConducting Audits & REF’s and delivering clear and precise, high-quality reportsWorking within and leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across a range of sectorsFieldwork on exciting projects, and client secondment opportunities.Advising and delivering Management Plans
ExperienceTo be successful in this role, you will need:A degree in Environmental Science, Town Planning, Environmental Engineering or a related field3 years + experience in environmental consultingImpact Assessment ExpertiseExperience and competence in the Field as well as the office.Demonstrated knowledge of NSW & Commonwealth environmental legislation and policies, standards and guidelines.Experience in the linear infrastructure, renewables, power and/or agribusiness sectors will be highly regardedExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia
