THE ROLE
We are looking for a passionate
Sous Chef
to join our kitchen team within Doot Doot Doot. Set within a progressive, contemporary hotel, this role would suit someone with a genuine passion to create food that is delicious and exciting.
* You will be responsible for managing your own section and contributing to the smooth running of our kitchen
* Always observing best practice in food hygiene and health and safety procedures
* Assist the Head Chef with menu design, recipe cards and ongoing product knowledge
* Liaise with FOH team on a daily basis
* Lead, coach and mentor junior staff
* Uphold kitchen team morale and ensure workplace is harmonious
* Provide feedback to Head Chef on any issues that may arise
* Able to adapt and succeed in high-pressure service periods

ABOUT YOU
* Have previous experience preferably within a hatted / Michelin star restaurant or 5-star hotel
* Fully understand how the role contributes to the success of the restaurant
* Maintain a good level of understanding of the restaurant and hospitality industry
* Lead by example
* Go above and beyond to create ongoing memorable and unique guest experiences
* Build effective and constructive relationships
* Communicate clearly, professionally and concisely

REQUIREMENTS
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or similar qualification a must
* Proven experience in a busy restaurant for at least 3+ years
* Drivers License and access to a car essential
