About the Role
Our client, a well‑established and growing business in the stone production and installation industry, is seeking an experienced General Manager to join their team.
Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, scheduling installations, and managing maintenance projects.
This is a hands‑on leadership role where your organisational and communication skills will be key to ensuring smooth operations and high‑quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and coordinate production, installation schedules, and maintenance works for projects
* Liaise with builders, joiners, and staff to ensure timely delivery of work
* Actively participate in production meetings to monitor workflow
* Collaborate with senior staff to maintain high standards and productivity
* Maintain effective communication with clients to ensure satisfaction
* Problem‑solve operational issues to maintain project momentum
* Work closely with the Drafting / Pre‑Production team to avoid delays in drawings
* Support installers as needed to ensure efficient project completion
* Assess workload volumes and control workflow efficiently
* Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance production
* Manage day‑to‑day communications away from Directors
* Promote and enforce OHS policies, procedures, and SWMS compliance
Skills & Attributes
* Proven experience in a managerial role within production or installation environments
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Excellent organisational and planning capabilities
* High‑level problem‑solving and decision‑making ability
* Effective communication skills with staff, clients, and stakeholders
* Ability to maintain quality standards under pressure
