Crowne Plaza is looking for a dynamic professional to join our team as an Event Sales Manager. This exciting opportunity will see you play a pivotal role in driving banqueting revenue and overseeing the successful planning and execution of events.
The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Conference and Events operations, with the ability to work independently and have a flexible work approach. You will be responsible for managing the entire event sales cycle from lead generation through execution to post-event follow-up.
We are seeking someone with excellent commercial and communication skills, who can develop strategic sales plans, establish goals and objectives, set performance targets and deliver projects on time.
As an Event Sales Manager, you will be responsible for:
* Maintaining awareness of the hotel's revenue targets and forecasts, making commercially sound decisions to meet or exceed banqueting revenue goals
* Overseeing the full event process: proposals, site inspections, contracts, banquet event orders, and post-event invoicing
* Leading weekly pipeline meetings, actively pursuing new revenue opportunities, and driving sales conversion
* Building strategic partnerships and sponsorships to increase brand visibility and business development
* Owning lead conversion for the Meetings & Events and support conversion for Business Development leads
* Driving success of key hotel ticketed events (e.g. Mother's Day, Christmas Day, Melbourne Cup)
* Ensuring all internal and community events are financially viable and within budget
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients
* FOLLOWING up after events to gather feedback and secure repeat business
* Handling client concerns or complaints quickly and professionally
* Meeting and greeting clients during conference and throughout the day
* Liaising with internal departments (catering, operations, AV, front desk) to ensure smooth event execution
* Creating event function sheets and briefing documents for operational teams
* Ensuring all client specifications are understood and delivered accurately
* Updating CRM systems with client data, sales activities, and event notes
* Preparing weekly/monthly sales reports and forecasts
* Staying informed about competitor offerings, industry trends, and market demand
