Role Description
ASM is seeking a Head of Actors & Writers to lead and grow our scripted talent division across actors, writers, and key creative talent. This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping the careers of high profile talent across film, television, and streaming, while building strong relationships with casting directors, production companies, studios, and networks locally and internationally.
You will play a pivotal role in expanding ASM's footprint within the scripted space, identifying emerging talent, and driving strategic opportunities for both established and rising clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage ASM's Actors & Writers division, setting strategic direction and growth targets
* Represent a roster of established actors and writers across film, television, and streaming platforms
* Identify, sign, and develop new and emerging talent
* Secure auditions, roles, writing opportunities, and long-term career pathways for clients
* Build and maintain strong relationships with casting directors, producers, studios, networks, and streamers
* Negotiate contracts across acting and writing engagements
* Work closely with talent managers and brand partnerships teams to align commercial and scripted opportunities
* Oversee junior agents and support staff within the division
* Track industry trends and identify new opportunities in local and international markets
* Collaborate with the broader ASM team to elevate talent profiles and visibility
Requirements
* Minimum 5+ years' experience as an acting agent within a reputable agency
* Strong existing relationships with casting directors, producers, and industry stakeholders
* Proven track record of securing roles and building long-term careers for actors and/or writers
* Deep understanding of the Australian and international film & television landscape
* Experience negotiating talent contracts and managing client expectations
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously
* Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
* Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for growing a division within a fast-scaling agency
