Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction for English curriculum, teaching, and learning; lead curriculum monitoring and assessment practices; build the capacity of staff to ensure high-quality outcomes for all students; drive whole-school initiatives that improve student outcomes, wellbeing, and engagement; foster a collaborative professional culture within the faculty and across the school.
Specific Selection Criteria
Proven ability to lead curriculum monitoring and assessment practices, to build capacity of staff, to ensure high-quality teaching and learning outcomes for all students.
Expertise in leading the implementation, evaluation and improvement of curriculum that fosters high expectations, engagement, and equity for a diverse range of students.
Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain collaborative professional relationships within the faculty and across the school, fostering teamwork, trust, and shared responsibility.
Experience in driving whole-school initiatives that build staff capacity to improve student outcomes, wellbeing, and engagement.
General Selection Criteria
Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
