Job Description
The Quality Engineering Practice Lead will be responsible for driving and overseeing quality engineering strategies, frameworks, and pre-sales engagement across multiple industry verticals.
This role is pivotal in ensuring that quality standards are consistently met throughout the development lifecycle in client engagements and that the engineering teams are empowered to deliver high-quality products efficiently, with teams that are both onshore and offshore.
Key Responsibilities
* Practice Development & Growth:
o Define and execute a strategic roadmap to grow the software testing practice in Australia, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.
o Drive business development initiatives to acquire new clients and ensure long-term relationships with existing clients. Identify client pain points and design tailored testing solutions.
o Analyse the Australian market and identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and potential clients in various industry verticals.
o Collaborate with sales and business development teams to present value propositions to potential clients, demonstrating how our testing services will solve their challenges.
* Leadership & Strategy:
o Lead and mentor a team of quality engineers, providing guidance and professional development.
o Develop and implement a strategic quality engineering roadmap aligned with the company's objectives and product development needs.
o Establish and continuously improve QA best practices, tools, processes, and methodologies to enhance the quality of software products.
o Foster a culture of quality across the engineering teams, ensuring quality principles are integrated from the start of the development lifecycle.
* Quality Engineering Excellence:
o Design and implement scalable, automated test strategies (unit, integration, functional, regression) to ensure high test coverage and product reliability.
o Ensure that testing processes are efficient, repeatable, and measurable.
o Evaluate and recommend new testing tools, technologies, and practices to keep pace with industry trends and technology advancements.
o Perform hands-on testing and participate in test planning, execution, and reviews when necessary.
* Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
o Work closely with product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and expectations around product quality.
o Act as a quality advocate, promoting the importance of quality across the product lifecycle and ensuring that business and technical requirements are aligned.
o Provide regular reports and metrics on the quality of the product and the efficiency of the QA process.
* Continuous Improvement:
o Analyse test results, defects, and production issues to identify areas of improvement in quality practices.
o Champion the continuous improvement of quality metrics and KPIs, focusing on reducing defects, cycle times, and improving overall product quality.
o Facilitate retrospectives and knowledge-sharing sessions to continuously refine processes and resolve bottlenecks.
