You will guide procurement and resourcing decisions, manage complex negotiations and maintain strong relationships with industry and stakeholders. Your portfolio includes iconic initiatives such as METRONET on Swan, Transforming Bunbury's Waterfront and other projects. You will chair and contribute to governance forums, including steering groups, where strategic insight, negotiation, influence and robust discussions are essential.

This is an SES fixed term contract opportunity for up to five (5) years, with possibility of extension. Suitable candidates may receive further offers of employment in this or similar roles.

What you'll bring

We are seeking a strategic, values‐driven leader who can:

* Lead a complex, high‐value program with a solid grasp of program management fundamentals, sequencing work, prioritising staffing and resources across multiple projects, and balancing strategy with detail.
* Manage large capital budgets confidently, collaborating with Finance on forecasting, reporting, carryovers and financial governance involving millions of dollars.
* Build and lead a multidisciplinary team, including engineers and planners, using strong people‐leadership and communication skills to navigate challenges and foster open, constructive conversations.
* Own the delivery of the program with hands‐on, accountable leadership that keeps the program connected and moving forward.
* Influence effectively in complex environments, developing governance structures, steering groups and stakeholder networks with calm authority and sound judgement.
Our Offer
* Fremantle‐based leadership role in a vibrant coastal hub with an energising maritime environment.
* Opportunities to travel regionally and experience WA's coastal communities and landscapes.
* Lead a high‐impact marine infrastructure program that benefits Western Australians.
* Influence major strategic decisions across the Transport Portfolio and work with experienced senior leaders.
* Flexible working arrangements to support modern leadership and work–life balance.
* An inclusive, values‐driven culture where diverse leadership voices are welcomed and supported.
