ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently seeking to engage WA based fly-in-fly-out (FIFO), or residential, Remote Area Registered Nurses for a regional medical centre in Pannawonica, on a maximum term contract. We are looking for Registered Nurses with a passion for remote work and high quality care to join our team, working an 8 days on, 6 days off roster (Ex Perth).
DUTIES
In this role your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Daily operational and administrative duties in the management of the medical centre
2. Supporting the needs of the community by providing services in the areas of: Women’s/Men’s Health, Mental Health, Child Health, Occupational Health, Immunisation, Injury Management
3. Community health promotions
4. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team
5. Medicals for the onsite workforce
6. Data capture for reporting purposes
7. Tool Boxes and education of onsite teams
8. Participate in Emergency Response Training.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will be a flexible and dynamic Registered Nurse with current registration. You must possess experience in remote patient care, life support and have excellent clinical, treatment and emergency skills along with:
9. Bachelor of Nursing or the equivalent and registration with AHPRA as Registered Nurse
10. Advanced Life Support (ALS) & Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
11. Emergency Department experience
12. Rural/remote healthcare experience
13. Collect specimens for drug and alcohol abuse testing (HLTPAT005), audiology and spirometry - desirable
14. Current immunisation qualifications
15. Pharmacotherapeutics
16. Police Clearance (not older than 3 months)
17. Possession of “C” class driver’s licence
18. Must have an intermediate level of computer literacy and be able to utilise Microsoft office applications
Desirable Requirements
19. Trauma Nursing Care Course (TNCC) or Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS )
20. Early Management of Severe Trauma (EMST) or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) or equivalent
21. Training in the Management of Burns (WA Model of Burns Care)
22. MIMMS
23. Audiology certificate to conduct WorkCover hearing tests
24. Spirometry
