We are committed to maintain the physical infrastructure of AWS, ensuring the standards for operational performance in the areas of safety, security, availability, productivity, capacity, efficiency, and cost.We are looking for a Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Engineer with experience in critical facilities management, a result-driven individual with strong technical (electrical/mechanical) understanding and the drive and vision to take our data center engineering operations to the next level. The role will report to the DCEO Manager and be responsible for sustaining availability, cost management, risk assessment and mitigation, review corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure and metric reporting.Key job responsibilitiesParticipate in a 24/7 rotating shift patternAssist for the on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed, is in accordance with established practices, procedures & local legislation.Maintain performance benchmarks, conduct analyses & prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility infrastructure operations & maintenance.Generate Change Management requests & Incident Management tickets for events that DCEO are responsible to manage.Work with DC managers (IT) and other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, sustainability and efficiency.Contribute to documentation relevant to business & facility operations.Responsible for the installation of the racks and the provision of power/cooling within it's constraints.Be involved with the management of both routine maintenance and emergency services on a variety of critical systems such as: switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.Assist in the design, implementation, commissioning and build out of new facilities.Assist with the management of the Facility assets and the provision of infrastructure & inventory asset management.Attend and participate in regular Construction & Operational Meetings as required.Assist with Work Order compliance to ensure all contractual SLA’s are achieved.Interface with Infra Ops teams for day to day operational requirements.Assist in the resolution of any infrastructure engineering or services issue.Delivery of exceptional customer service and satisfaction.A day in the lifeNo two days are the same in AWS data centres but, typically, your day will include:Attending operational meetings to foster awareness of important activities across the Melbourne data centre regionMentoring and development of less experienced engineering operations techniciansPlanning and scheduling of maintenance activities for critical infrastructureCollaborating on solving complex engineering problems impacting critical infrastructureCollaboration with other AWS data centre regions globallyAbout The TeamDiverse ExperiencesAWS values diverse experiences.
