We are seeking to appoint two Non-Executive Directors / Board members.
This is an extraordinary opportunity for individuals who are passionate about our mission to contribute to the leadership and governance of our organisation.
The roles require participating in approximately 6 board meetings and 6 committee meetings a year, as well as advocating for the organisation and attending community events.

ORGANISATION CONTEXT We manage two refuges: Bringa Women and Children's Refuge in the Northern Beaches and Delvena Women and Children's Refuge in the Lower North Shore.
In addition, we provide crisis accommodation for women and children escaping domestic violence.
We also provide ongoing case management for women and children living in our transitional housing in the community.
Our services include: Domestic Violence Services: including crisis accommodation and transitional housing.
Northern Beaches Family Support Service Other services we provide include: advice, information, and referral Ongoing case management counselling domestic violence support groups cooking groups parenting skills groups, including Circle of Security, learning to play with children, and understanding children's emotions ABOUT YOU We are specifically looking to expand our capability skills set in the areas of Fundraising, Legal, IT ; one or more of these disciplines will be highly regarded.
Board experience and or AICD (or similar) certification is an advantage.
Knowledge of non-executive Director's responsibilities, including governance, legal, ethical, fiduciary, and financial responsibilities.
DV / Homelessness Sector Knowledge or Experience an advantage Strategic expertise evidenced by an ability to review strategy through constructive questioning and contribute to effective Board decision-making.
Financial ability such that can read and comprehend organisational financial accounts and related material.
Legal capability to the extent that can effectively oversee compliance with relevant laws as well as understanding the non-executive Director's individual duties and responsibilities.
HOW TO APPLY Applications from graduates of the AICD Company Directors Course or individuals with equivalent governance qualifications or demonstrated board director experience are highly regarded.
Interviews will be conducted mid to late January .
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend the February Board meeting, providing an opportunity to meet the Executive team prior to final appointments being made.
