This role in summary
Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Motor Control Analyst. This is an onsite role at our Research Center in Benton Harbor, MI.
In this role, the candidate will work in a global cross-functional team to design, implement and integrate motor control solutions into product platforms, to achieve attribute and product performance targets.
Your responsibilities will include
Delivery of motor control projects per commitment to meet Cost, Timing and Quality targets
Be responsible for tools and test methods to ensure fully functional and robust motor control software prior to integration into platforms
Accountable for motor control test and tuning
Provide inputs to roadmaps and project planning to ensure clear deliverables and requirements, resourcing and timing
Translate technical sub-system targets into module and algorithm targets
Drive algorithm and module trade-offs to achieve optimum performance vs cost vs schedule
* Ability to read datasheets, software & hardware reference documents, create setups and debug hardware related issues without supervision
Masters degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
1+ years of experience in embedded C programming and debugging tools
1+ years of experience in design control firmware for electrical motors including sensorless Field Oriented Control Techniques
Preferred skills and experiences
* Experience in test prototypes with minimal supervision
* Experience in Model Based Design Tools (Matlab, Simulink) and techniques (MIL, SIL, PIL)
* Knowledge of power electronic devices and inverter design
* Creative and problem-solving thought process with a sense of urgency
* Effective communication skills in a global environment
