About the role
The Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist role provides clinical specialist support to the Simulation service, making a substantial contribution to the development of a culture of medical education and safe, effective patient centered clinical practice.
The Medical Director role provides support and leadership to the Gold Coast Heath Simulation Service and Clinical Governance service, contributing to the development of a culture of individual, team and organisational learning.
Requirements for the role
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B.
Tuberculosis screening - to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required.
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.
MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia plus Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Internationally trained candidates may require an acceptable Comparability Assessment undertaken by the appropriate Australian Specialist Medical College as part of the application process.
Relevant qualification/s and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
Strong clinical and teaching experience would be well regarded.
Senior Staff Specialists or Staff Specialists report operationally to the Medical Director of Simulation and professionally to the Chief Medical Officer.
The Medical Director reports operationally to the Executive Director of Nursing, Midwifery and Patient Experience and professionally to the Chief Medical Officer.
Salary information
Permanent part time Staff Specialist with Temporary part time Medical Director component (40 hours per fortnight)
Estimated total remuneration up to $223,508 p.a., comprising:
Senior Staff Specialist: Base hourly rate from $ $127.77 p.h
Staff Specialist: Base hourly rate from $ $117.06 p.h
Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
