Assistant Food & Beverage Manager | Full Time | InterContinental Sydney Double Bay
Under the general direction of the Director of F&B;, and within the framework of InterContinental Hotels Group and local hotel policies, the Assistant F&B; Manager ensures the smooth operation of each shift through exceptional, guest-focused service and effective team supervision. Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be performing the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Manage everyday activity, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers
- Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals for colleagues
- Train colleagues to ensure they deliver with compliance and to the standards expected
- Recommend or initiate any HR related actions where needed
- Ensure all food and beverage equipment is in operational condition and regularly cleaned
- Ensure all F&B; facilities including banquet/convention spaces are clean and properly stocked to anticipated business volume; notify engineering immediately of any maintenance and repair needs
- Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on food, beverage and labour costs
- Identify additional sales opportunities to enhance revenue with the catering office
- Drive promotions that deliver great dining experiences for guests at good value
- Ensure credit and financial transactions are handled securely
Qualifications & Requirements
- Availability across a 7 day roster, particularly PM shifts
- 1 year’s experience in a full-time F&B; role, preferably in a hotel or luxury restaurant environment
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, enthusiasm to learn, and a can-do attitude
- Proficiency in delivering a seamless experience to customers
- Willingness to support and mentor junior staff as necessary
- Eligibility to live and work in Australia – no sponsorship opportunities available
