The North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA) is seeking a Criminal Administration Officer to join our Youth Practice team in Darwin. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is organised, motivated and passionate about supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through the justice system.
Working alongside our youth lawyers and client services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring young clients receive timely, culturally respectful and effective legal support.

About the Role
The Criminal Administration Officer provides vital administrative and client service support to NAAJA's Youth Criminal Law Practice.
This role is fast-paced and people-focused, requiring strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate confidently with clients, lawyers and external services.
You will help ensure our lawyers have the information and support they need to deliver high-quality legal representation to young people across the Northern Territory.
What You'll Be Doing
* Speaking with clients over the phone to gather accurate information and assist communication between clients and lawyers
* Entering and maintaining confidential client information in NAAJA's client management system
* Preparing court lists and organising client files for duty lawyer and bush court services
* Coordinating services for clients such as transport, accommodation and assessments
* Supporting the criminal law team with general administrative duties
* Assisting with the smooth day-to-day operation of the Youth Practice team

* Strong communication skills and the ability to engage respectfully with Aboriginal people and communities
* The ability to work in a busy office environment and meet deadlines
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* A commitment to providing excellent client service
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn
* Experience in an administrative or legal environment will be highly regarded
* Ability to obtain a Working with Children Clearance (Orche Card) and criminal history check
