Cloudstreet Consulting is seeking a skilled Mainframe Technical Resource on behalf of our client, the Northern Territory Government (NTG).
The Department of Corporate and Digital Development (DCDD) Across Government Systems is looking to fill a 12-month contract role for a Mainframe Analyst/Programmer with strong knowledge and experience working with financial and banking applications.
In this role, you will be primarily responsible for providing mainframe application support and development for the Government Accounting System (GAS). GAS is a commercial-off-the-shelf solution underpinned by Infor Masterpiece, Datacom, and CICS, used to manage critical financial operations across the NTG.
The system includes vendor-supplied online and batch programs, along with a large library of bespoke programs, batch jobs, and JCLs that extract, process, and export/import data for various government functions. Your role will involve maintaining, updating, and enhancing these programs to ensure seamless integration and reliable performance as business needs evolve.

Requirements
* Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, SQL, CICS, and Datacom.
* Proficiency in managing ticket requests and workload using Atlassian JIRA, with the ability to maintain clear and accurate documentation.
* Familiarity with Atlassian Confluence for collaborative documentation and knowledge sharing (desirable).
* Informed awareness of banking systems and processes, with an understanding of financial integrations and modernisation initiatives (highly desirable).
* Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team of developers, business analysts, and subject matter experts.
* Experience liaising with internal teams and external vendors to address business-as-usual operations and resolve technical issues.
* Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
* Adaptability to change, with a commitment to continuous improvement and organisational goals.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
