The Company

Our client supplies Construction Companies with Structural Steel either from their stocked items such as Angle Iron, RHS (Rectangular Hollow Steel) and SHS (Square Hollow Steel). They also can Custom Fabricate to client’s specification structural steel such as T-Bars, H Beams / Universal Beams and Corner Angles.

The Role

Our client is not necessarily looking for a candidate that can carry out all the job functions immediately where they are happy to train someone in the responsibilities.

As the Internal Sales Officer, you will be responsible for managing inbound sales enquiries via phone or email and creating detailed quotations or sales orders. In addition, you will be the main point of contact for clients in providing updates on completion dates, delivery dates or order modifications.

This role does not involve cold calling or new business development and is focused on delivering high levels of customer service and accurate order processing.

Orders are generally emailed through by clients which include Architectural & Structural Plans where the Internal Sales Officer will be trained to interpret and manipulate the plans to calculate the following;

* Identifying structural steel components in Architectural plans

* Using CAD software dragging out each structural steel component on separate document Inputting Data

* From dragged items identify the type of structural steel products required such as Angle Iron, RHS, SQS, T-Bars, Universal Beams or Corner Angles

* Calculate the number of each steel product

* Using CAD software calculate measurements / dimensions of each product

* Through a pricing list, calculate the charge for each product

* Create a quote or sales order that includes itemized products & costs

* Email the quote or sales order through to the clients with estimates on delivery

Apart from creating detailed quotations other responsibilities of the role include;

* Taking inbound sales calls from new & existing customers

* Monitoring inbound emails for new orders or clients requests

* Providing product information and pricing via phone or email

* Liaising with internal team members for client request such as estimated completion dates or

* Updating clients regularly on progress & estimated delivery dates of orders

* Following up with clients on submitted quotes that have not responded

* Continually learning and maintaining product knowledge

* Maintaining accurate customer and order records

* Ad hoc Administration

Working Hours & Days

* Working Days: Monday - Friday

* Working Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

The Candidate

As mentioned, our client is not necessarily looking for a candidate that can carry out all the job functions immediately where they are happy to train someone in the responsibilities.

Candidate that possess a good working knowledge of the construction industry or a working knowledge of Architectural or Building plans and are desiring to progress their career are encouraged to apply.

Additionally, candidates that have at least 2 years administration experience and have worked in roles such as the following are high on our list;

* Internal Sales Officer that has experience in created detailed quotes and estimates

* Sales Administration Support

* Invoicing Clerk

* Technical Customer Service

* Entry Level Architectural Drafter

* Real Estate Administrator

Essential Criteria includes;

* Has at least 2 years in an administration role

* Excellent Communication Skills - Written & Verbal

* Above average computer skills including Excel, Word & Outlook

* Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills

* Ability to learn and navigate internal computer & software systems

Our client is also seeking a candidate with the following personality attributes;

* Ability to work under pressures in order to meet deadlines

* Ability to liaise with internal staff and customers

Remuneration

This is a Permanent role where you will be employed directly by our client. The salary range includes;

* 65K – 75K Annual Salary

* + Superannuation

* + Leave Entitlements
