About the Role
Video Editor (Founder's Media Team) – entry‐level role at Ecommerce Equation Group, based in Newcastle, NSW, Australia. Responsible for turning raw footage into scroll‐stopping content across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn, delivering sharp, engaging videos that drive real results.
Responsibilities
* Transform raw footage into polished, ready‐to‐publish videos with tight pacing, strong hooks, and platform‐optimised outputs.
* Edit daily content across multiple formats (9:16, 1:1, 16:9) for different platforms.
* Apply captions and trending sounds in line with brand standards.
* Translate creative briefs into strong, visually engaging content.
* Adapt content for different platforms and audiences, tailoring pacing and tone.
* Integrate licensed music, sound effects, and stock footage as required.
* Create content designed to maximise watch time, engagement, and conversions.
* Review feedback and analytics from the Content Creator to continuously improve your edits.
* Stay current with social media trends, editing styles, and viral formats.
* Recommend new approaches to structure, hooks, or visual execution that can lift results.
* Keep all projects well organised with consistent naming conventions and clear folder structures.
* Deliver all assets on time and to brief.
Qualifications
* Social media native who lives and breathes platforms, knows what's trending, and can demonstrate engaging content creation.
* Strong proficiency in CapCut and native editing software like TikTok or Instagram Edits.
* Ability to review long‐form recordings, spot the best moments, and turn them into engaging short‐form videos without step‐by‐step direction.
* Skilled in adding captions and trending sounds that enhance storytelling.
* Strong eye for pacing, composition, visual detail, and selecting attention‐grabbing shots.
* Ability to edit for speed, retention, and engagement while maintaining brand tone and consistency.
* Experience optimising content for different aspect ratios and platform requirements.
* Ability to interpret creative briefs and execute with minimal direction.
* Highly organised with excellent time management – proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Comfortable working autonomously while maintaining close communication with the Founder and Content Creator.
* Energy, initiative, and creativity to keep the process fast and fun.
* Obsessed with improvement – studies creators, watches breakdowns, tests learnings.
