Special needs education is a vital component of the learning process, and we are seeking to establish a pool of assistants who can support teachers in creating and maintaining inclusive education programs.
The Role
As a special needs education assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the teacher in delivering planned education programs, including the operation of computers and digital technologies. You will also plan and implement individual student or small group programs, providing feedback on education and therapy programs, and participating in the evaluation process relating to the achievement of goals in special education.
* You will work collaboratively with the teacher and other external agencies to create a supportive environment that meets the specific needs of students.
* You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to interact effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
Successful applicants should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. A strong understanding of child development principles and experience working with students with special needs would be highly regarded.
Eligibility

* be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights;
* obtain a valid Working With Children Check before commencing employment;
* and consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department's Screening Unit before commencing employment.
