 
        
        Senior Food Technologist | Contract Role - 12 Months | Commence October 2025 
Our client, a global leader in the development and supply of microencapsulated food ingredients, is seeking a Senior Food Technologist for a 12-month maternity leave contract commencing in October 2025 
Responsibilities: 
- Develop and sustain a thorough understanding of the company’s products and their applications to effectively address and resolve stakeholder queries.
- Lead, coordinate, and oversee projects to ensure delivery within agreed technical, financial, timeline, and customer parameters.
- Provide input into resolving technical challenges relating to product design, performance, and application, with the aim of generating new intellectual property for the business.
- Contribute to the design, adaptation, and improvement of both new and existing products tailored to customer requirements and target applications.
- Create experimental samples and prototypes in laboratory and pilot plant settings, and support full-scale production trials to align with defined product specifications.
- Ensure all product developments and formulations meet the relevant regulatory standards for the intended markets and applications.
- Drive innovation by conducting process reviews, market research, intellectual property evaluations, and preparing business case justifications.
- Explore and evaluate emerging technologies with potential application in new product development and innovation.
- Build and maintain external networks that provide support in fulfilling the responsibilities of the role.
- Develop collaborations with universities and industry research organizations to advance joint research initiatives, access R&D; infrastructure, and leverage available grants or funding opportunities.
- Plan, execute, and deliver development projects through to completion, ensuring achievement of milestones within budget and allocated resources.
- Manage shelf-life stability testing for new products and applications
The ideal candidate will possess: 
- A degree in Food Science or Food Technology
- At least 5 years’ experience within the food industry (or a related sector)
- The ability to manage projects independently
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
