Job description CNC Machinist Our client is a well-established Australian precision engineering company supplying high-quality machined components to the mining, drilling, marine, automotive, energy and heavy industry sectors. They are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join the team. ABOUT THE ROLE This is a hands-on machining role focused on medium to large, high-precision components primarily using a CNC vertical lathe but with opportunity to work across a variety of other CNC machines, including a Vertical Borer KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Set up and operate CNC Lathe / Mill / Vertical Borer - Program and edit jobs using Siemens NX (CAD/CAM) - Operate machines with Fanuc controllers - Interpret engineering drawings and specifications - Select tooling, offsets, and cutting strategies for large components - Maintain high standards of accuracy, surface finish, and repeatability - Perform in-process inspection and basic quality checks - Work safely and efficiently within production schedules SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - Trade-qualified CNC Machinist or equivalent experience - Experience operating Vertical Borers an added bonus - Proven experience CAD systems - Solid knowledge of Fanuc CNC controls - Ability to machine large, heavy, or complex components - Strong understanding of tolerances, fits, and GD&T - Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work autonomously WHAT IS ON OFFER - Competitive hourly rate based on experience - A permanent role! - Overtime available regularly - Stable, long-term employment - Supportive team environment with a fantastic hands on management team and staff with really log tenure at the company - a happy ship! - Opportunity to work on interesting, non-repetitive jobs LOCATION Archerfield Brisbane, QLD
