An exciting permanent opportunity has become available for a.NET Developer Associate
As part of the Technology Team, this role will partner closely with business representatives to deliver high quality.Net Developer Associate level services at pace to drive strategic outcomes for Bupa’s customers and maintain integral Bupa systems.
The purpose of this role is to contribute to software development and maintenance, including successful delivery of strategic change initiatives across the Bupa technology stack, with support from an experienced Developer. The role will include requirement analysis, assistance with solution design, code development, unit testing and implementation of highly maintainable and scalable solutions.
**How will I help?**
- With support from an experienced Bupa developer:
- Develop high quality code that leverages existing Bupa code libraries, patterns and architectural techniques where they exist
- Extend and improve existing code libraries, patterns and architectural techniques
- Undertake design and development activities including coding, testing, deployment scripting and configuration areas in.Net domains and other related technologies
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies and promoting usability best practices.
- Contribute ideas for both solution and product design and architecture
- Work independently and collaboratively in a creative and agile team
- Proactively support the uplift of project delivery practices and participate in and contribute to Communities of Practice within Bupa
- Other responsibilities as directed by the Project Manager or Reporting Manager You may also carry out any other duties reasonably requested by Bupa from time to time.
**What do I need?**
**Qualifications and training**
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology - Computer Science / Software Engineering or equivalent (desirable)
**Experience**
- 1-2 years’ experience in a.Net Developer role (desirable) or equivalent experience in support of web in.Net domains or other technologies, or as a developer for similar technologies
- Basic competence level in using development and automated testing tools in the.NET domain using the mocking framework and DI principles
- Some understanding of client-side scripting, JavaScript libraries and web frameworks including jQuery, Bootstrap, AngularJS, React. (desirable)
- Some understanding of HTML, CSS and CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS (desirable)
- Some experience with code versioning tools, such as Git and TFS (desirable)
- Experience with Azure Cloud platform or equivalent is an advantage
- Experience with WCF and Winforms is an advantage Skills and attributes
- Good problem-solving skills
- Positive understanding of software design principles and patterns
- Familiarity with multiple delivery methods and approaches - Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid (desirable)
- Understanding of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Knowledge of the health insurance business (desirable)
- Knowledge of Azure Dev Ops or Confluence (desirable)
