Position Summary:
The AI Specialist role is focused on the design, development, and deployment of AI-infused solutions – particularly leveraging Azure Open AI, Microsoft Co-pilot Studio, and on-prem or edge-deployable LLMs. This includes building intelligent assistants, metadata extraction pipelines, and machine learning services that function securely across cloud, hybrid, and air-gapped environments. This role will collaborate closely with the Seers engineering team and client stakeholders to deliver applied AI use cases across sectors such as government, defence, and regulated industries.
Key Responsibilities:
* AI Solution Design & Development: Design and implement AI-powered applications using Microsoft Azure Open AI, Azure ML, Azure Services, Container Apps; Create intelligent assistants using Copilot Studio, RAG pipelines, and agentic workflows; Deploy and optimise models for online and offline/edge use (e.g. NVIDIA Jetson, DDIL networks); Work with custom tools and APIs to extend LLM capabilities with real-world utility; Build pipelines for AI-driven Auto-tagging, Summarisation, Entity extraction, Metadata generation for search and compliance; Implement fine-tuned models for custom classification and secure data processing.
* Security-Aware & On-Prem Deployment: Build secure, scalable infrastructure in Azure, hybrid, and on-premises environments; Use containerised model serving tools (e.g. BentoML, Triton Inference Server, TGI, ONNX Runtime); Work within classified environments and follow security protocols for deploying AI tools; Integrate AI services into broader application platforms or automation pipelines; Version control (Git/Azure DevOps) and deployment pipelines for repeatability and governance; Deliver technical documentation, demos, and training for clients and stakeholders.
Key Skills & Experience:
* 3+ years of software/ML engineering, including real-world deployments.
* Awareness of Open-source models (e.g., LLaMA, Mistral, Microsoft Phi, Whisper, YOLO)
* Understanding of model quantisation and optimisation (GGUF, GPTQ, BitsAndBytes, etc.).
* Knowledge of document processing, vector databases, and secure ingestion pipelines.
* Solid Python engineering skills and experience with ML/AI serving frameworks.
* Experience working in classified or secure IT environments.
* Experience building and deploying LLMs in cloud and offline settings.
* Knowledge of DDIL (Disconnected, Degraded, Intermittent, Limited) environments.
* Familiarity with compliance and governance requirements in regulated industries (e.g., defence, healthcare).
* Use of NVIDIA CUDA, TensorRT, and containerised inference workflows.
Clearance Requirements:
* NV1/NV2 preferred for working on government/defence projects
* Must be an Australian Citizen
