The Wheatbelt Development Commission (WDC) is a statutory authority established in 1994 by the Western Australian Government under the Regional Development Commissions Act 1993. The WDC works with government, industry and the community to drive investment and economic growth across the Wheatbelt.

About the opportunity
There is currently one (1) permanent position available for immediate filling at the WDC.
The Wheatbelt is experiencing strong economic growth and increasing diversification, including renewable energy, manufacturing, freight and logistics. Underpinned by agriculture and mining, the region has 9,500 small and medium enterprises, more per capita than any region in the State.
WDC is seeking a Local Content Advisor to maximise local procurement and job outcomes for Wheatbelt businesses and job seekers. As a Local Content Adviser, you will promote, develop and maximise opportunities for local suppliers, contractors and jobseekers in the Wheatbelt region by fostering connections with government and industry bodies, businesses, Aboriginal Corporations and key employment and training stakeholders. Through effective collaboration and strategic engagement, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing local participation in key projects and initiatives.
We are looking for a motivated and confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills and proven ability to build effective relationships across the public and private sectors to achieve positive outcomes. Experience and understanding of regional industries and business development, particularly small businesses, is desirable.
The role can be undertaken from Northam, Moora, Narrogin or Merredin.

To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia.
