Siemens Smart Infrastructure is shaping the future of electrification and automation. As a leader in smart grid solutions, energy automation, and transmission, we drive innovation in microgrids, big data, and energy storage. We are currently seeking a Substation Technician to join our Electrification and Automation Customer Services team in Perth, Western Australia.
Role Overview:
The Substation Technician will be responsible for servicing Medium Voltage AIS & GIS Switchgear, Low Voltage Switchgear, Busway systems, and protection & automation systems for clients across Australia and New Zealand.
Key responsibilities include:
* Installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure
* Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and customer satisfaction standards
* Performing preventative and corrective maintenance, upgrades, and workshop repairs
* Providing technical support and expertise to clients
About You?
* Minimum five years of experience in LV and MV Distribution systems
* Unrestricted Electrical Licence (A grade or equivalent)
* Valid Driver’s Licence and ability to travel for site work
* A passion for customer service
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous:
* Electrical Engineering background or equivalent experience
* Experience in Partial Discharge Testing & protection relay testing
* Knowledge of Sulfur Hexafluoride (SF6) gas handling
