**About the Client**:
Our client manage the major water, sewerage and drainage networks across Greater Melbourne, together with your local water company and council. they also care for 25,000km of rivers and creeks that sustain healthy communities and the environment making our region a great place to live.
**Role Summary**:
The primary purpose of this role is to Payroll advisor is to provide an efficient and effective payroll service to all employees in accordance with relevant Awards and Company Enterprise Agreement, Statutory requirements and policies and procedures.
**Responsibilities and Key Deliverables**:
- Prepare and process fortnightly payroll calculations and timesheets as required for new starters, leave, salary changes, pay adjustments, performance payments, promotions, transfers and terminations using Chris21
- Ensure all changes are accurate, timely and meet all terms and conditions of employment in accordance with relevant legislative provisions
- Update and maintain payroll files, databases and spreadsheets on a regular basis, such as the Payroll intranet page, policies, procedures and documents
- Prepare and distribute fortnightly and monthly HR and payroll reports and adhoc HR statistical reports, as required.
- Maintaining and updating personnel files in accordance with records management system
- Maintain a current knowledge and understand of all relevant policy, legislation, EBAs to enable efficient and compliant processing to pay and entitlements
- Assist in the preparation and remittance of fortnightly superannuation contributions.
- Assist in the preparation and process journals for employee provisions.
- Assist in the reconciliation of payroll related General Ledger accounts.
- Assist with End of Year processing and reconciliation including payment summaries.
- Assist with research into HR/Payroll issues, especially those relating to data integrity resolutions.
- Assist with the development of procedural documentation and user training to support the correct utilization of the HR/Payroll System.
- Process organizational structural changes, ensuring that all changes are accurate, timely and in accordance with Melbourne Water guidelines
- Work Collaboratively with Talent Acquisition and HR Portfolio Teams to ensure consistent and seamless efficient lifecycle to support all Melbourne Water employees.
- Adhoc HR and Payroll matters.
- Participate and contribute to Payroll team meetings.
**To be successful in this role**:
- Competent skills in payroll processing, preparation and data entry.
- Understanding of Australian payroll legislation i.e. NES, taxation and superannuation.
- Competent skills in working with relevant software packages, including Word, Advanced Excel, Outlook, and large payroll system packages (chris21 experience preferred).
- Competent numeracy skills, with the ability to understand routine formulas and calculate payroll matters such as overtime and remuneration package/contract details.
- Ability to prepare statistical and general payroll/personnel related reports.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and personnel matters.
- Customer service focus.

- Ability to priorities workload to meet deadlines.
