Your New Role And Responsibilities
We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead to join our high performing Command, Control, Communications & Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) line of business, working on a nationally significant, and highly visible federal government customer. The project is focused on developing the data processing platform that drives one of the most visited websites in Australia. This role is multi‑faceted and we’re looking for a unique individual who can contribute broadly across the software development lifecycle; DevOps; Data Integration; Release Management; and Software Management. Key Responsibilities
Provide high‑quality advice, guidance, and support throughout the lifecycle in an Agile delivery environment, ensuring teams follow defined Agile rhythms. Build strong working relationships across Operations, Development, Architecture, and key customer stakeholders while maintaining consistent team‑wide understanding of project issues. Act as a centralised and reliable source of knowledge on team activities, maintaining collaboration tools across various environments. Lead and coordinate major release deployments by enabling consistent, repeatable, and improvable processes, proactively removing impediments, and promoting efficiency and collaboration across technical teams. Design and manage effective workload allocation systems, identify automation opportunities to drive efficiency, and track, monitor, and report on processes and sprint outcomes. About You And What You'll Bring
5+ years’ experience in DevOps, Systems Engineering, Platform Support, or similar high‑availability environments, with strong hands‑on Linux (RHEL) administration, incident resolution, and deep troubleshooting capability. Proven expertise in managing and optimising GitLab CI/CD pipelines across complex multi‑environment landscapes, plus proficiency in Ansible automation and Python scripting (with Java deployment experience desirable). Skilled in OpenShift, containers, and API‑driven operational workflows, with strong understanding of monitoring and log analytics using the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana). Exposure to NiFi, Solr, TIBCO EBX, PostgreSQL or similar technologies; strong documentation habits; and experience using Jira/Confluence for workflows and knowledge management. Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science (or equivalent experience), alongside RHCSA or similar Linux certification, plus experience or certification in Ansible/automation tooling and solid understanding of API‑driven integrations.
