Indian Tadka Restaurant is looking for 2 Full Time Chef De Partie to join their team.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Plan and organise daily kitchen operations for both lunch and dinner services, coordinating preparation schedules across various cooking stations including the grill, oven, curry station, and fryers to ensure timely and high-quality order completion.
• Prepare, season, and cook a wide range of menu items in line with our offerings, such as tandoori meats, rich curries, handcrafted naan breads and flavourful vegetarian options.
• Supervise and lead cooks and kitchen hands to maintain consistent quality, presentation, and adherence to food safety standards throughout each service.
• Implement and monitor waste reduction strategies to improve kitchen efficiency and control food costs.
• Manage the preparation of daily specials and other popular items to guarantee efficient service and quick turnaround during busy periods.
• Ensure strict compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations by monitoring storage and cooking temperatures and verifying the quality of all food products.
• Handle customer feedback related to food quality or service promptly and professionally, adjusting as needed to improve satisfaction.
• Lead daily briefings with kitchen staff to communicate menu changes, special instructions, and health and safety updates.
• Contribute to menu development and enhancements by creating new dishes or variations that reflect seasonal produce and customer preferences.
• Monitor portion control, plate presentation, and service timing to uphold the established standards of quality for all dishes.
• Support the training and skill development of junior staff, focusing on areas such as sauce preparation, meat cookery, and oven-based dishes to enhance overall kitchen expertise.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Cert IV or Diploma in the relevant field
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Chef De Partie
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, food trends, and menu development.
- Knowledge of Indian food is a bonus
- Robust leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Financial acumen in managing kitchen costs, inventory, and food waste.
- Creative and passionate about delivering high-quality dishes.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Salary range: $75,000 - $80,000
