Australian Concert & Entertainment Security – Wollongong NSW
We are seeking Casual Security Officers As a customer focused security officer, you will play a vital role in safeguarding our clients' assets while creating a safe, professional, and welcoming environment. You will be assigned to a higher education campus located in Wollongong, where delivering exceptional customer service is just as important as maintaining site security.
Your responsibilities will include regular patrols, managing incidents, and engaging positively with staff, students, and visitors. This role requires outstanding communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, customer-first attitude.
Responsibilities and duties include:
Conducting regular foot patrols to ensure the safety and security of the premises, requiring physical stamina and alertness
Delivering high service performance standards while continuously improving operational efficiency
Responding swiftly and professionally to workplace emergencies and incidents
Ability to use a Two-Way Radio
Ability to effectively communicate clearly with Police and Emergency Services for any response requirements
Operating control room systems such as CCTV, access control, duress alarms, and intercoms
Conducting site safety inspections and mitigating security-related risks
Managing incidents to achieve the safest and most effective outcomes
Proactively reducing risk and enhancing overall site safety
Work effectively with a team in a collaborative approach
Operating access control systems and monitoring entry/exit points
Maintaining accurate communication logs and detailed security reports
Providing excellent customer service and engaging professionally with campus users
Collaborating effectively with team members to support site security objectives
Utilising electronic security systems to monitor and protect the site
Supporting event security and crowd control as required
Performing car parking compliance duties in line with site policies
Taking reasonable care for your own health and safety, and ensuring your actions do not adversely affect the health, safety, or wellbeing of others, in line with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) obligations
Applying conflict resolution skills to deescalate, manage, and resolve disputes effectively
Demonstrating proficiency in computer systems, including Email, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Current NSW Security Licence (1A)
Ability to drive a utility vehicle and Golf Cart
Unrestricted NSW Driver Licence
Additional certifications (or willingness to obtain): Mental Health First Aid, Fire Warden, Traffic Control, Working with Children Check
Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) Competency Card
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Willingness to learn SEINS or other infringement systems (training provided)
Demonstrated excellence in customer service
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Professional personal presentation
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Willingness to obtain any additional role-required qualifications
Intermediate computer skills, including Email, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
