In this role, you will support the Coordinator and team by handling customer enquiries, assisting with programs in the gardens, and providing day-to-day administrative support to keep operations running smoothly. 
Work type: Permanent part time (5 hours p/day, 25 hrs p/week) 
Hours: 8:30am-1:30pm or 9am-2pm 
Classification: Band 3 Commencing at $68,775 pa plus super pro rata 
Key responsibilities 
- Provide administrative support to the Coordinator and leadership team, including room bookings, event preparation, and general office tasks. 
- Support programs by maintaining records, scheduling, communications, and documentation. 
- Assist with education programs and events, preparing materials and spaces for onsite sessions. 
- Act as first point of contact for visitors and guests at the Geelong Botanic Gardens and Operations Centre. 
- Manage records and correspondence, including the use of Records Explorer (REX) and preparing routine communications. 
About you 
- To be successful in this role, you will have experience in a similar position and excellent time management skills. 
- Proven ability in performing a range of administrative tasks. 
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and resolve routine issues. 
- Organisational skills to manage tasks independently while contributing effectively to a team. 
- Business administration knowledge with solid literacy, numeracy, and computer skills. 
- Commitment to professionalism by upholding Council’s Code of Conduct and values. 
- Working with Children Check (employee). 
- Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
