What You’d Be Doing In This Role
Every month, more than 90 million Canva users create a design in one of the 100 languages supported by Canva. Our localisation team consists of linguists, project managers, and designers distributed throughout the company, with a mission to celebrate the diversity of our global users and enhance their Canva experience.
This involves developing a vision for the global user experience, procuring translation services, and maintaining localisation infrastructure roadmaps. As a team member, you'll be involved in all stages of the development cycle within world-class product teams.
At The Moment, This Role Is Focused On
* Coordinating localisation projects, including creative content, copy, and product features for audiences with over 100 language requirements.
* Leading the team by coaching members or setting standards as a craft leader.
* Exploring and implementing process improvements.
* Serving as a marketing channel expert, providing context to translators and the localisation team.
You're Probably a Match If
* You excel at transforming chaos into clarity, understanding complex problems and communicating solutions simply.
* You are persistent and driven to see projects through despite challenges.
* You communicate effectively with both technical teams and creative or marketing teams.
* You are familiar with tech tools (Atlassian, basic web development) and produce clear documentation.
* You understand global user experience and have experience in localisation or internationalisation, ideally within SaaS.
* Multilingual abilities and vendor-side localisation experience are a plus.
Also, We’d Love It If You Had
* Basic knowledge of customer acquisition strategies.
* Experience with localisation tools and processes, especially Smartling.
* Proficiency in SQL or data analysis.
* A degree in linguistics, languages, or localisation.
About The Team
The Localisation group manages the localisation of Canva’s products and marketing, along with tools, processes, and assets supporting this mission. We are part of the Global Content and Discovery supergroup, serving the entire organisation from customer support to AI features.
Our team includes localisation specialists, designers, and native language managers working to equip all Canva users with best practices and insights for global reach. The Marketing Localisation team focuses on opening Canva’s top-of-funnel to the global market.
