Civic Events Officer Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Civic Events Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality civic and corporate events, ensuring public image is enhanced and positively maintained.
About the Role
This position plays a crucial role in the organisation and execution of various events, including ceremonies, receptions, and other functions that promote the council's image and reputation.
* Initiate, plan, and coordinate Council civic events to achieve set objectives.
* Provide expert advice and support to stakeholders, including the Mayor, CEO, Manager Media and Communications, and Council staff on event-related matters.
* Ensure adherence to ceremonial and protocol requirements during events.
* Prepare comprehensive reports, proposals, and budgets for events.
Key Responsibilities
The Civic Events Officer will be responsible for:
* Attending events as required, including weekends and after-hours.
* Coordinating logistics, vendors, and resources for events.
* Developing and implementing event strategies to enhance public image and engagement.
* Maintaining relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and partners.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Relevant qualifications and/or extensive experience in a civic or corporate event role.
* Previous experience in organising functions and civic events, including budget administration.
* Excellent communication, project management, and interpersonal skills.
* A proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
