Immediate-start Mechanical Fitter role with our client in Mackay - long term opportunity

Your new role
Based in the Mackay workshop, you will join a small team of 6–8 tradespeople undertaking the overhaul and maintenance of a range of mechanical components. This role will suit a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner with lathe experience who enjoys hands-on workshop-based work and variety in their day. You’ll work a 38-hour week with some overtime and the occasional Saturday, starting at 6:00am and finishing at 2:06pm. This is a casual position for an initial 6–12 month period, with the potential to become longer term or permanent for the right candidate.
What you'll need to succeed
* Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner
* Lathe experience (essential)
* Current forklift ticket or ability to obtain one quickly
* Current driver’s licence
* Availability for a 6–12 month assignment with immediate start
* Strong safety focus and workshop experience
Willingness to learn and upskill in new equipment and processes
