About the role
The Signage Instructor operates a workshop producing a variety of sign products and services supporting Department of Justice operations statewide. The position provides on the job instruction and training, with supervision of prisoners who work in this area.
Overview
Karnet Prison Farm is located 75km south of Perth. It produces food including milk, meat, eggs, fruit and vegetables for the State's prisons. Karnet focuses on preparing male prisoners for successful re-entry into the community when they are released, giving them job skills linked to industry and farming practices.
Responsibilities
* Operate a workshop producing a variety of sign products and services to support Department of Justice operations statewide.
* Provide on the job instruction and training to prisoners working in the signage area.
* Supervise prisoners and ensure safe, efficient production processes and adherence to relevant policies.
Qualifications and requirements
* Experience operating a workshop or similar production environment (signage or related crafts preferred).
* Ability to train and supervise learners or prisoners in a structured work setting.
* Strong attention to quality, safety, and compliance with relevant standards.
