Special Education Services Manager
About the Role
The Special Education Services Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating inclusive programs to support students with disabilities. This involves managing the delivery of high-quality support through Special Education and Early Childhood Development programs.
* Lead inclusive programs: Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality support through the Special Education and/or Early Childhood Development programs.
* Deliver expert guidance: Provide strategic advice and support to school leaders and teachers to plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
* Coordinate targeted support: Oversee and provide intensive, data-informed teaching interventions and case management for students requiring substantial or extensive adjustments.
* Build capacity and collaboration: Support staff to access professional learning and specialist services, and foster partnerships with parents, agencies, and community groups.
* Ensure effective systems and resource management: Implement school-wide data systems (including NCCD processes) and manage human, financial, and curriculum resources to achieve inclusive education goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement inclusive education strategies to support students with diverse needs.
* Provide coaching and mentoring to teachers to enhance their skills in supporting students with disabilities.
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with significant disabilities.
* Manage and maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
* Stay up-to-date with relevant policies, procedures, and legislation affecting special education in schools.
