This role operates in alignment with the Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC), which functions 24/7/365 as a central command and monitoring centre, crisis management and information hub built on actionable intelligence.
This is not a cybersecurity role. This position operates on-site from Sydney.
Purpose of the Role
We are hiring an Intelligence Analyst to assist with our intelligence capability and threat monitoring services. The Intelligence Analyst will be tasked with producing open-source investigations into potential threat actors, Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) background checks, location risk assessments, security briefs and alerts, and monitoring online commentary, sentiment and threats towards clients.
This role requires collaboration with GSOC analysts, operators and other intelligence analysts.
What you’ll do:
The Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for:
* Client Expertise and Knowledge: maintain an excellent knowledge of client’s specific SOPs, threat landscape and risks level.
* Online Monitoring of Commentary: live monitoring of threats, commentary and sentiment published on the surface web, social media, the deep and dark web, and triage for investigations and escalations. Develop efficient procedures for recording and thresholds.
* Investigation: using OSINT to investigate and analyse Persons of Interest to determine potential fixations on clients, sentiment, capabilities and criminal intent.
* Location Threat Monitoring: monitoring, tracking and analysing imminent threats domestically and internationally and alerting stakeholders on rapidly developing situations through OSINT to support our security operations on the ground. Producing risk assessments and updates on global and local risks.
* Security Briefs: assessments of incidents that may have implications for clients and the broader security environment.
* Threat Actors’ Knowledge: maintaining in depth and comprehensive knowledge of threat actors and groups pertinent to our clients, including their ideologies, modus operandi and propaganda tactics.
* OSINT Tools and Platforms: routinely audit OSINT tools and capabilities, training on new OSINT capabilities and ensuring the team is equipped with the latest and most effective OSINT techniques and technologies.
* Mentorship and Training: coordinate and lead mentorship for GSOC team members on investigations and monitoring, this includes delivering targeted training sessions to build capability and ensure consistent high quality intelligence practices across the team.
What we’re looking for:
* Professional experience in OSINT, including investigations and real-time monitoring.
* Tertiary qualification in International Relations, Law, Political Science, Global Security Studies, National Security, and/or related area.
* Good understanding and expertise in local and global safety and security threat landscape.
* Strong interpersonal skills, including accuracy in information relay.
* Self-motivated and can effectively prioritise, manage deadlines, and understand new ideas and concepts.
* Must be detail-oriented and good analytical thinking.
* Keen interest in threat analysis and detection.
* High-level written and verbal communication skills.
* High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a team and alone.
* Adaptable, flexible, and well organized.
* Ability to perform well in a dynamic environment.
Requirements:
* Minimum of three years of experience in Intelligence and OSINT, including investigations.
* Relevant tertiary education.
* Proficient in OSINT with a sound understanding of technology requirements.
* Available for extended, on-call or irregular hours as required by operational intelligence needs.
* Must have Australian working rights.
