Salary: $145,137 - $169,572 (Plus Superannuation)
ASIS is Australia’s overseas secret intelligence collection agency. Its mission is to protect and
promote Australia’s vital interests through the provision of intelligence services as directed by the
Australian Government. Its work can involve collecting intelligence relating to national security,
international relations and economic issues. It also contributes to Australia’s coordinated national
efforts against terrorism, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and trans-national issues
such as people smuggling.
ASIS employs people in a wide range of roles, including technologists. These roles require dynamic
team players who enjoy working with stakeholders, team members and individually on projects.
ASIS is looking for people who will be able to meet tight deadlines and work to support ASIS
priorities. Sucessful candidates will have excellent coordination and administration skills, excellent
verbal and written communication skills; and, strong stakeholder engagement and influencing
skills. Relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrable experience will be highly regarded.

We offer a competitive salary package including 22 days annual leave, shutdown between
Christmas and New Years Day, 15.4% employer superannuation contribution, and generous paid
parental leave. Full and part time positions as well as flexible work hours can be negotiated.
All positions are office-based and located in Canberra. This role requires the successful applicant
to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
Role(s): Manager - Mobile and Gateway Solutions (EL1)
ASIS is seeking manager(s) with the requisite technical background, skills and experience to lead
the remediation/development and delivery of a range of specialist Secure Gateway and Mobile
solutions servicing a variety of operational and corporate technology areas in a fast-paced and
complex global environment.
These role(s) will see you providing essential services to ASIS as you work within highly experienced
teams. You will be provided with training, support and mentorship required to develop and grow
your skills to further your career. This role will include the opportunity for domestic and overseas
travel.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Outlined below are the key areas of responsibility for the EL1 Manager:
Lead the development and support for mission critical capabilities within a team
environment.
Engage with internal, external and international partners in the delivery of next
generation technologies
Oversee the delivery of specific vendor delivered capability developments
Review, design, update and build documentation
Support and manage organisation priorities and effort
Support Senior Infrastructure Engineers with technical design planning and
implementation
Provide subject matter expertise to team members and advice to senior management
and other staff in the development of new capabilities
Core Skills / Education, qualification and experience requirements
We are looking for knowledgeable IT professionals with a background/experience in a range of ICT
disciplines with one or more of the following:
Manager
Experience in one or more of the following:
Experience supporting and designing Gateway and High Assurance Gateway solutions
Experience in the development, delivery and support of secure enterprise mobile access
solutions.
Experience supporting and designing network systems, using hardware such as
Cisco/Juniper routers, switches and firewalls
Cisco software defined environments (SDWAN), containerisation, hyper-converged
Datacentres, and global WANs
Knowledge of networking, telecommunications infrastructure, wireless communication
standards and associated security standards and considerations
Experience in deploying system monitoring, performance optimisation and process
improvements
Exposure / skills / experience in supporting internet and cloud-based technologies,
principles and environments
Experience in the following would be beneficial, but not essential:
Experience supporting and designing Cross domain systems.
Exposure to High assurance mobile access solutions.
Exposure to networks using commercial and government grade cryptographic equipment
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification
