Who will you be working with?
You will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and work as part of a collaborative, self-directed team. Based on-site with our client, you will work closely with their team while serving as the key link between Wabtec and the client. This role requires strong teamwork, communication, and the ability to build effective relationships across both organisations.

What will your typical day look like?
The purpose of the Communication & Control Technician role is to perform routine maintenance of Operation Technology Systems including equipment such as network switches, PLCs, CCTV cameras, access control, passenger information equipment, radio, workstations, and servers.
Responsibilities of the role include:
* Maintenance and continual improvement of client OT/IT systems
* Continual improvement of Preventative Maintenance procedures
* Performing updates, upgrades, and installations to OT/IT systems and applications
* Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving system faults (hardware, software, and network)
* Configuring and supporting OT/IT networks (switches, firewalls, VLANs, routing)
* Conducting client system audits and maintaining accurate documentation
* Availability to be on a 24x7 after hours on-call roster ~ 1 week a month
* Availability to perform ~ 3-4 night shifts every quarter
What do we want to know about you?
* Sound communication skills including – concise verbal skills, the ability to write short technical reports and actively listen.
* Proven ability to give and receive feedback to facilitate personal growth and the growth of other team members.
* Technical background with demonstrated experience in one or more of the following:
* IT/Networking (Cisco) – switch configuration, routing, VLANs, IP addressing, and basic firewall concepts
* Windows/Linux servers, workstation support, and basic virtualization
* CCTV systems (Bosch, Genetec) and Access Control
* OT systems, PLCs, and field devices
* Audio and Radio systems
* Previous data and/or fibre cabling experience (training provided if required)
* Demonstrated experience and/or ability to learn new technologies
* Customer-focused mindset with the ability to work collaboratively in a team
