About the role
Total Prefab is seeking an Experienced or Trainee TRUSS DETAILER - Timber Structure Designer / Estimator to join our team in Cambridge, TASMANIA. This full-time position will play a key role in our manufacturing business, responsible for designing and estimating timber prefab structures. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and contribute to the overall success and growth of the company.
The role will include the interpretation and conversion of architectural plans into 3D construction models for estimation and manufacture via MiTek's Sapphire design software. Also, the preparation of floor, wall and roof estimates, with an emphasis on prefabrication packages. General administration duties are also required and intensive in-house training will be provided on the use of the design software.
What we're looking for
* Previous experience as a truss detailer, timber structure designer or construction estimator preferred.
* Strong technical skills in reading and interpreting construction plans, drawings, and specifications
* Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting package would be an advantage.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify optimal solutions
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
