The Opportunity
NXTGEN Air Solutions is looking for an experienced mechanical HVAC technician ready to step into HVAC commissioning and be trained into healthcare and pharmaceutical certification.
This role is approximately 50% HVAC commissioning, with the remaining time spent learning and performing NATA‑accredited testing and compliance work. If you understand HVAC systems and want more technical, stable, and quality‑driven work — this is a genuine career move.
Interstate travel is required, along with some after‑hours and weekend work during planned shutdowns. This work is scheduled in advance and forms part of structured project delivery — not reactive breakdowns.
No NATA or certification experience required. We train good HVAC techs into the compliance side.
What You’ll Be Doing
•Commissioning commercial HVAC systems (airflow, balance, controls, performance)
•Verifying systems against design intent and specifications
•Identifying and documenting performance issues
•Learning healthcare and pharmaceutical HVAC testing and certification
•Performing airflow, pressure, HEPA filter testing, particle counting and environmental testing (training provided)
•Producing clear, accurate commissioning and compliance reports
•Working on clean, well‑managed sites (hospitals, labs, pharma facilities)
No installation work. No breakdown callouts.
What We’re Looking For
•Qualified or experienced HVAC mechanical technician
•Background in commercial HVAC install, service, or commissioning
•Solid understanding of airflow, ducted systems, and controls
•Strong fault‑finding skills
•Willingness to learn testing, standards, and documentation
•Good attention to detail and pride in quality work
•Ability to work independently on site
•Current driver’s licence
