Bush Fire Brigade volunteers play a significant role in helping to keep their local communities safe. Members are trained and equipped to respond to bushfire incidents, support prevention initiatives and work alongside other emergency services when required. Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to bushfire prevention, preparedness and response activities
* Support the brigade in operational and non-operational duties
* Maintain a strong focus on safety and teamwork
* Represent the brigade professionally within the community
* Adhere to the Shire of Collie Bushfire Brigades Social Media Policy
Key Tasks
* Respond to bush and scrub fire incidents when available
* Undertake local fire prevention activities and hazard reduction support
* Assist with community education and engagement initiatives
* Regularly attend brigade meetings and training sessions
* Inspect and maintain brigade equipment and facilities
* Support other emergency service agencies as required

Training
Basic training is required before attending incidents. Members are expected to attend regular training to maintain & develop their skills, with all training provided at no cost. Additional courses & other specialist training are available.
