Our client is a Victorian-based livestock enterprise, managing a growing aggregation of properties across South-West Victoria. This mixed farming operation is made up of fine wool production, a small cattle herd, and some cropping for fodder. The enterprise focuses on producing quality 17-micron Merino wool and premium livestock, while maintaining excellent land condition and presentation.
The Role
As Farm Manager, you’ll lead day-to-day operations, guiding a small and capable on-farm team (Assistant Manager, Farm Hand, and casual support) to achieve production and profitability goals.
Key responsibilities
* Managing sheep and cattle enterprises for productivity, quality, and sustainability
* Overseeing pasture management, rotational grazing, and cropping programs
* Driving annual planning, budgeting, and reporting with senior management
* Leading staff training, development, and a positive team culture
* Maintaining property, machinery, and infrastructure to high standards
About You
* Proven experience managing a mixed livestock and cropping enterprise
* Strong knowledge of fine wool production and grazing systems
* Confident leadership and communication skills
* Mechanical aptitude and sound business acumen
* Your own well-trained working dogs
* Qualifications in agriculture, ChemCert, and Lifetime Ewe Management (advantageous)
* Respectful & professional, collaborative mindset
