About the Role
Reporting into the role of Senior Manager Health Information Services, the Manager HIS Operations oversees and manages the operations of the Health Information Service, including the provision of patient information (internal and external to South West Healthcare) and the handling of information (FOI) requests.
The position is responsible in ensuring the successful delivery of operational tasks including rostering, credentialing, appointments, onboarding and performance development. The position also has an important focus on ensuring that policies and procedures pertaining to the department are carried out and are also regularly reviewed, updated and communicated as required.
Further to the specific nature of the tasks associated with the position of Manager HIS Operations, the role more broadly is integral to ensuring collaboration across all areas of the organisation to ensure that a high-quality service is provided within the organisation as well as to its own consumers.
As an operational manager, this position will have a significant influence in shaping a positive and high performing culture.
Position Overview
* Permanent, Full Time (80 hours per fortnight) with a monthly accrued day off
* Based in Warrnambool
* Classification: Health Information Manager Grade 4
* Salary Range: $126,079.20 - $138,928.40 per annum, plus superannuation
What you bring:
* An undergraduate or post-graduate qualification in Health Information Management. Candidates without formal qualifications in Health Information Management should be able to demonstrate progress towards achieving this qualification
* Candidates with health information management qualification should have at least three years' experience working as a Health Information Manager within a public or private healthcare setting. Candidates without a formal qualification in Health Information should have at least five years' experience in clinical coding and having worked within a Health Information Services unit within a public or private health setting
* Eligibility for membership with the Health Information Management Association Australia (HIMMA)
* Demonstrated knowledge of health information management systems
* Demonstrated effective management and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide impactful leadership
* High-level commitment to continuous quality improvement
* High-level computer literacy and excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
